In 2015, we brought people together to occupy and transform cities. Since then, we have continued to create living and meaningful spaces.

The City Needs You, let’s go together?
Founded in 2015, A Cidade Precisa de Você (The City Needs You) is a collective of people organized as a non-profit association. We believe in the importance of public spaces and citizen participation.
Our purpose is to promote urban pedagogy for the exercise of citizenship. To this end, we develop actions that raise awareness and activate public spaces, seeking to build fairer, more democratic, and sustainable cities. We act through investigation, listening, and testing with the local population, activating the potential of each territory to transform them into vibrant places.
We don't have ready-made answers, but rather technologies adapted to each context. Our work considers the voice of the territory and its inhabitants, as we believe that people transform cities.
How we operate:
Education and Knowledge
We share knowledge through collaborative processes - workshops, content, and practices that strengthen reflections on the right to the city.
Activation and Intervention
We develop events, cultural activities, and interventions that bring people closer to public spaces, expanding the sense of urban belonging.
Incidence and Advocacy
We build citizenship networks and collaborative capacities, influencing public policies with innovative and sustainable perspectives.

ACIDADE is a co-founder of the Brazilian Network of Collaborative Urbanism and is based at Questtonó.
